How to Watch Pac-12 Men’s Basketball in 2026–27: CBS, USA, CW and YouTube

Find the right U.S. channel or stream for Pac-12 men’s basketball, including local CW exceptions, ESPN Unlimited, CBS versus CBSSN, and six San Diego State YouTube games.

How to Watch Pac-12 Men’s Basketball in 2026–27: CBS, USA, CW and YouTube

Where Pac-12 men’s basketball is airing in 2026–27

To follow Pac-12 men’s basketball this season, start with the broadcaster beside the individual game. The U.S. television package spans CBS, CBS Sports Network, USA Network and The CW, with selected additional games on the conference’s YouTube channel. Paramount+ and ESPN Unlimited provide specified streaming routes for parts of that lineup. A single league-branded subscription is not a reliable answer for every game your team plays.

The October 14 conference announcement says 68 of 72 league games will air on national television. That is a statement about conference games, not every nonconference contest involving a Pac-12 school. It also does not mean one television channel carries those 68 games.

Fresno State provides a useful example of why the distinction matters. Its school announcement puts the January 13 home meeting with Gonzaga on CBS Sports Network and the January 27 return game on USA. Following the same two teams does not guarantee returning to the same channel. The broadcaster can change between the first matchup and the rematch even during conference play.

Keep this guide separate from a team-strength preview. The Pac-12 season overview explains the league context. Here the practical question is access: which signal carries the game, which account can open it, whether the time is local to you, and whether a national listing actually applies to your market.

Assignments below reflect announcements checked on October 30, 2026. A game with an unsettled time still needs a later schedule check. Treat a blank channel or a “TBD” time as unfinished information, rather than permission to assume it will use whichever service carried the previous game.

How CBS, CBS Sports Network and USA fit together

CBS and CBS Sports Network are different channels

A listing that says “CBS” means something different from “CBSSN.” The former is the broadcast network; the latter is CBS Sports Network. The similar names are a frequent source of subscription mistakes. The Pac-12 announcement pairs CBS games with Paramount+ simulcasts, but that wording does not turn the entire CBS Sports Network schedule into a Paramount+ package.

Paramount+’s own college basketball viewing guide identifies its Premium plan and live local CBS feed as the route for CBS college basketball. Confirm the current plan and the actual game listing before purchasing. A service displaying basketball news, highlights or a replay tile is not the same as an account being entitled to the live game you want.

For a concrete date to mark, San Diego State’s visit to Gonzaga on February 27 is announced for CBS and Paramount+, with a 1 p.m. Pacific, 4 p.m. Eastern tip. Compare that with a fixture labeled CBSSN: for the latter, check whether your cable, satellite or live television streaming package includes CBS Sports Network. The network’s provider guidance treats it as a separate channel, and your actual package matters more than a familiar corporate logo.

Check USA in your actual television package

For a game listed on USA, look for USA Network in the channel lineup attached to your own subscription. Channel numbers vary by provider and location. The practical check is whether the live channel opens on the device you will use, rather than whether an advertisement says the service has a broad selection of sports.

The USA Network app description says live viewing uses a television-provider sign-in. The app being free to download therefore does not mean the network’s live games are automatically free to watch. A cable, satellite or digital television subscription can supply the relevant credentials, subject to the package and the app’s availability rules.

Test that connection before tipoff, especially if you have changed providers or devices since last season. Open the live channel, confirm that the account is recognized, and locate the schedule. Trying three passwords during the first four possessions is an avoidable way to miss how a team is handling ball pressure or establishing its rotation. Do not purchase another service merely because it belongs to a related media brand; verify the game’s stated access route first.

What a CW listing means for television and streaming

Four local games are not national CW windows

The CW portion of the announcement needs its footnote. The league lists 35 games in that package, including four with local television broadcasts rather than national CW windows. All 35 are also listed for CW Sports streaming through the ESPN App with ESPN Unlimited. A viewer outside the relevant local market should therefore check the streaming route instead of assuming the game must appear on every CW affiliate.

Gonzaga’s November 7 home game against New Mexico State illustrates the distinction. The conference schedule labels it The CW, while the school’s detailed television table identifies KHQ and ESPN Unlimited. That is a reason to read the team’s specific listing, not a reason to assume the school and league are describing different basketball games.

For a national CW assignment, check your local station’s program guide and reception or provider availability. For a local assignment, check the named station. The words “The CW” can describe the rights package without guaranteeing identical programming on the affiliate in your city. That difference matters most to supporters who follow their school after moving away from its home market.

The ESPN Unlimited route for CW Sports

ESPN’s CW Sports support page is explicit about the plan distinction: live CW Sports events are available to ESPN Unlimited subscribers, while ESPN Select does not provide that access. The ESPN App is where you find the stream; simply installing the app does not establish the necessary subscription.

Check which account is signed in and what it includes before adding another payment. If Unlimited already comes with your existing arrangement, verify that the account recognizes it. If you have only Select, do not assume a game bearing a CW Sports tile will open because some other ESPN content works. The entitlement needs to match the event.

The digital route also does not mean the television game has moved to ESPN or ESPN2. You may watch a CW Sports production inside an ESPN-branded app while the linear listing remains The CW. For families comparing a living-room television with a tablet or phone, keep two questions separate: which broadcaster is showing the game, and which app and subscription can deliver that broadcaster’s stream.

Which games you can watch on the Pac-12 YouTube channel

San Diego State’s six announced home streams

San Diego State has identified six nonconference home games for the Pac-12 YouTube channel. These are specific assignments, not a promise that every Pac-12 men’s game outside the national television package will use the same destination. The dates and times below also appear on the Aztecs’ current official schedule.

Date in 2026OpponentTipoff, PacificAnnounced stream
November 3Cal State Fullerton7 p.m.Pac-12 YouTube
November 11Bethune-Cookman2 p.m.Pac-12 YouTube
November 18Texas Southern7 p.m.Pac-12 YouTube
December 11Montana State7 p.m.Pac-12 YouTube
December 22LIU3 p.m.Pac-12 YouTube
December 31Life Pacific2 p.m.Pac-12 YouTube

For supporters, these games can be useful opportunities to watch how a rotation develops before conference play. Pay attention to who initiates possessions, whether a second unit can handle pressure, and which combinations rebound well enough to finish a defensive stand. Those are things to observe when the games happen, not conclusions we can draw from the fact that they are streamed.

YouTube is not YouTube TV

Use the ordinary Pac-12 YouTube channel for a game assigned there. YouTube TV is a separate paid live television service. Google’s membership explanation also distinguishes YouTube Premium from YouTube TV. Neither a paid television bundle nor an ad-removal subscription should be assumed necessary simply because a school lists an ordinary YouTube broadcast.

The sensible route is the watch link on the school’s schedule or the official conference channel. Before the game, confirm the matchup and the live or upcoming designation. A highlights upload, a previous season’s full game and a scheduled live stream can all contain the same team names. An attractive thumbnail is not proof you have found the correct event.

If a live tile has not appeared yet, return through the official schedule nearer tipoff. That is more reliable than paying a stranger or following a search result promising every college game. The announced school assignment establishes where to look; it does not guarantee the publication time of the live video, replay availability, every device feature or access from every country.

For fans tracking both men’s and women’s teams, keep the schedules separate. The two programs can have different broadcast agreements even within the same conference and arena. A free-streaming commitment for one competition cannot be transferred automatically to the other.

Why road games and November events can use other networks

A team carries its conference affiliation into an away arena, but that does not mean it carries the conference’s entire television package with it. Nonconference road games and independently organized events can have different rights holders. San Diego State’s broadcast announcement explicitly separates games controlled outside the Pac-12 from the league’s own assignments. That is why a supporter following every Aztecs game will encounter more than the four main Pac-12 television partners.

Two upcoming dates make the point without requiring a complicated subscription chart. The official San Diego State schedule lists the November 24 Players Era opener against Iowa State on ESPNU at 2:30 p.m. Pacific. It lists the December 29 trip to UCLA on FS1 at 7 p.m. Pacific. Neither assignment should be replaced in your viewing plan by USA, CW or YouTube simply because those channels carry other Aztecs games.

ESPN’s October 13 schedule announcement corroborates the Iowa State matchup at 5:30 p.m. Eastern on ESPNU. “ESPN family of networks” is a useful description of the event’s broadcaster, but the exact channel is still the detail that gets you into the right game. An ESPN channel and an ESPN App screen are not interchangeable descriptions of an account’s access.

Later tournament rounds require another check. A conditional matchup means the next opponent can depend on a prior result. The next game’s start time and channel can therefore need confirmation after the bracket advances. Do not fill a blank with the opener’s channel, or assume a possible championship appearance is already a confirmed game on your team’s schedule.

This is also why comparing only the conference package can understate what a fan needs in November. A supporter interested in selected league games may be satisfied with one set of channels. Someone determined to watch every nonconference game may need additional access, and someone who only wants a particular neutral-site matchup may have a different choice again. Start with the games you actually intend to watch before comparing whole-season services.

Our general men’s basketball viewing guide explains the broader channel landscape. For Pac-12 teams, the useful habit is to read the schedule row afresh whenever the venue or event changes. A familiar jersey is not an assurance of a familiar broadcaster.

Build a viewing plan from your team’s actual schedule

The most useful plan starts with a short list of games, not a long list of subscriptions. Write down the matchups you intend to watch over the next few weeks, then mark the confirmed channel or platform beside each one. A supporter watching six selected games has a different problem from a family following every home game, road game and possible tournament round. Comparing those needs first can prevent paying twice for access you already have.

  1. Use the exact men’s team schedule. Check the season, opponent, venue and whether the game is an exhibition or regular-season contest.
  2. Read the complete channel label. CBS differs from CBSSN, ESPN differs from ESPNU, and a local CW listing requires attention to the named station.
  3. Match the label to an existing account. Confirm the relevant package or plan instead of relying on an app icon.
  4. Record the time zone. The six San Diego State YouTube times above are Pacific; another school’s schedule may display its own local time.
  5. Test the device and watch link. Do it before the opening possession, especially when a provider sign-in or a changed app is involved.

Leave room for the postseason in that plan. The men’s Pac-12 Tournament is scheduled for March 9–13, 2027, at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The announced television pattern is USA for the games leading to the final, then CBS with a Paramount+ simulcast for the championship. The final is listed for March 13 at 5:30 p.m. Pacific. That is a different viewing arrangement from the women’s championship, so a household following both teams should keep separate entries.

If a team’s tournament opponent is still unknown, the competition’s broadcast window can still help you plan. It does not establish that your team will reach that round. Set a reminder to update the opponent, time and watch link once the relevant result is known. That approach is especially helpful when games fall on consecutive days and a bracket gives different teams different paths.

For cost control, compare your existing access against that game list before starting a new subscription. Check the current billing terms, the package that actually carries the required channel, and the device you plan to use. A low introductory price is unhelpful if the game is on another network. Equally, adding a separate account for a stream already included in your arrangement may solve a problem you do not have.

Recheck official listings nearer each game, with particular attention to unsettled tip times and local television details. The new national footprint creates more ways to see Pac-12 basketball, but the useful measure for an individual fan is straightforward: when the ball goes up, the correct live game should already be open on the screen.
